SAMBA, July 19: Fortis Escorts Hospital Amritsar, in collaboration with Rotary Club Samba, organized a free multispeciality health camp in Samba. The health camp was inaugurated by Rajesh Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Samba, who attended the event as the chief guest.
The camp saw the participation of expert doctors from Fortis Escorts Hospital Amritsar, who extended specialized consultations across various departments. These doctors included Dr Arun Kumar Sharma, Consultant – Obesity, GI & General Surgery; Dr Tapish Shukla, Consultant – Orthopedics & Sports Injury; Dr Manbir Singh, Consultant – Urology; and Dr Priyanka Sharma, SMO – Internal Medicine.
A wide range of free medical services were provided at the camp, including blood pressure and blood sugar tests, general medical consultations, and the distribution of essential medicines to those in need. The initiative directly benefited over 300 residents from Samba and the surrounding areas, many of whom lack easy access to specialist medical services.
Dr Yogesh Joshi, Facility Director of Fortis Escorts Amritsar, underlined the hospital’s ongoing commitment to community health. He stated, “We are committed to continuing such camps in future to help people understand diseases early, ensure timely diagnosis, and encourage preventive healthcare at the community level.”
The camp marked an important step toward raising awareness about common health issues, facilitating early detection of potential illnesses and bridging the healthcare gap in rural and semi-urban areas.
