Tarsem Lal (then Tehsildar Vijaypur), Zassin Malik (then Patwari Gurha Slathia), and Rameshwar Singh (a beneficiary) were booked in case FIR number 03/2025 under section 5(1)(d) read with 5(2) of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, Svt 2006, and Section 120-B of the Ranbir Penal Code at ACB Police Station Jammu, an ACB official said.
He said, the case followed a verification into mutation number 1102 (Sehat Kasht Indraj Girdawari) related to land in village Rajinder Singh Pura, Tehsil Vijaypur, Samba district.
The mutation, attested in 2015, illegally recorded Rameshwar Singh as a tenant (Gair Maroosi) for 81 kanals and 19 marlas of land, the ACB official said.
He said, the verification revealed that some of the land was State-owned but was wrongfully mutated in favour of the beneficiary instead of being reclaimed.
“In some instances, the same land was recorded as proprietary in the mutation even though revenue records from 1995–96 lists it as State land,” added the ACB official.
According to him, officials failed to mention these discrepancies in their reports.
The Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, has already set aside the illegal entries made by the officials and directed necessary corrections, validating the ACB’s findings of misconduct and undue benefit, said the ACB official.
The investigation into the case is ongoing, he said.
