RAMBAN, May 27: Former MLA and senior Congress leader, Ashok Kumar has urged the Lieutenant Governor for filling up the vacant posts of doctors and paramedical staff at New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC), Gai (Dessa) in Ramban constituency.
Ashok Kumar said that due to non availability of the doctors at NTPHC, many patients of this area have to walk by foot about 60 km to reach at District Hospital Doda for their treatment due to ongoing lockdown 4.0 as there were no passenger vehicles.
He said most of the villages in the Dessa region are snow bound and are disconnected and inaccessible during the winter season. It becomes imperative to upgrade the New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) to Community Health Centre in order to give justice to the people in terms of medical facilities.
He also demanded to setup a 40 bedded hospital for Rudra Ganga valley which comprises of the dozen villages namely Malan, Shainkhly, Kunda, Jartund, Kralan, Bhatta, Chander-bhutan and Gorkhan. The Rudra-Ganga valley has zero connectivity in terms of road, electricity and medical facilities even in 21st century, said Ashok Kumar.
