Former Mayor, Gaushala members term allegations baseless

JAMMU, Oct 2: Former Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta and other Gaushala today while refuting the allegations levelled against them termed them “completely false and baseless”. They alleged that the person who has levelled allegations against them is the “real culprit” who has multiple criminal cases pending against him.
Chander Mohan Gupta along with nine other members Nitai Dass, Rajeev Sambyal, Virnder Dogra, Sanjay Kumar, Surinder Choudhary, Deepak Singh Raina, Madalsa Devi, Vijayata Dass of Shri Shri Radha Govind Dham Gaushala, Shakti Nagar were talking to reporters about the recent FIRs registered against them.
Chander Mohan Gupta informed that an FIR was already registered against the person who has levelled allegations against them in 2023 under IPC Section 295 for allegedly insulting a place of worship and attempting to damage Gaushala and temple property. Another FIR was registered in 2019 under Sections 452, 354, 323, 506 and 294 IPC relating to alleged incidents of sexual harassment and assault by him, they added.
The Gaushala members further alleged that the said person has been involved in cruelty towards cattle at the Gaushala. “We even have CCTV footage of him beating cows,” they said, adding that FIRs regarding this matter have also been lodged earlier.
Rejecting the charges levelled against them, the Gaushala management members invited the media to personally verify the status of cattle at the Gaushala. “You can count every cow; all are safe and present here. The false allegations of missing cattle are only an attempt to malign us,” they clarified.
They alleged that the person who has levelled allegations against them was involved in financial irregularities. They claimed that he had availed subsidies worth nearly Rs 10 lakh, which, according to them, were misappropriated by him.
