UDHAMPUR, Nov 18: Former Municipal Councillors-Preeti Khajuria and Ashwani Khajuria here today organised 24th eye camp at village Jadsarkot of Tikkri Block with the help of Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur.
Speaking on the occasion Preeti Khajuria said that eye camps are the most effective ways to provide eye care services to a large number of people in a short time.
In the eye camp, 22 cataract patients were identified in the area and they will be further examined on December 4 and 11 after which their operations will be done at Rotary Hospital.
This camp was completely free of cost for the patients in which free medicines were also given to them.
Preeti Khajuria said that they have been organising free medical camps for the people of rural areas every year for the last 22 years so that the needy people can be facilitated.
“This time around 250 patients came to the camp and 22 of them were suffering from cataract,” she maintained.
A Langar was also organized for the visitors to the camp.
Rotary Hospital team including Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Munish (Project Coordinator), Mukesh (Optometrist) and Navneet (Optometrist) made the camp successful.
Vijay Kumar, ex-Sarpanch, Krishan Singh, Karan Singh, Mamta, Makhana and others were also present in the camp.
