JAMMU, Apr 22: In a major success, police today arrested a woman employee of Forest Department for running a brothel at Roop Nagar for past quite some time. Police made the arrest on the complaint of a woman that she was raped by an unidentified man in the brothel of Shahida Parveen, a resident of Bhaderwah and posted as Computer Assistant in Forest Department at Dogra Hall.
Sources said Parveen was running brothel for past quite some time and had links with certain influential persons due to which, police officials had been refraining from laying hands on her.
Today police parties headed by SHO Janipura Hillal Azhar under the supervision of SSP Jammu Atul Goel and SP City (North) Yougal Manhas raided the brothel and arrested Shahida Parveen. Police said the arrest was made after a woman recorded her statement in the court that she was raped in the brothel by Parveen.
Police have booked Shahida under Sections 376, 109, 342, 506 RPC and 4/5 Immoral Trafficking Act at Janipura police station.
Further investigations have been taken up in the case.
