HIRANAGAR, Dec 9: A team of the Forest Department seized about Five quintals of Khair Wood and one person was arrested along with the vehicle, here today.
With determinant zeal and commitment to curb nefarious intentions of unscrupulous Timber mafia , a team of Jasrota Range today foiled an attempt to smuggle 5 quintals of freshly felled Khair Wood by seizing a Vehicle No JK08H 2098 during last late night hours and arresting it’s driver namely Romi son of Tilak Raj of Haria Chak.
A case in this regards has been registered under section 41, 41A, 42 and 52 of Indian Forest Act 1927 has been registered for bringing the matter to logical conclusion on merits.
The whole operation was successfully executed by team of Jasrota Range under the supervision of Rakesh Sharma, Jasrota Range Officer overall supervision of DFO Kathua, Dr. Rajan Singh.
