JAMMU, June 16: The Federation of Industries Jammu (FoIJ) has demanded financial relief to compensate losses of MSME sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
An meeting of the Federation of Industries Jammu was held today under the chairmanship of Lalit Mahajan in presence of Rattan Dogra, Jitender Aul and Deepak Dhawan, all Co-Chairmen and other Executive Committee members of the Federation of Industries Jammu to discuss the issues related to acute Financial problem being faced by Industrial sector of J&K due to lockdown imposed by Govt since March 25, 2020.
They pointed out that Micro & Small Sector units of the Jammu and Kashmir are suffering very badly due to partial functioning of the units since March 25, 2020 due to lockdown imposed by J&K UT Administration to break the chain of COVID-19 virus. Keeping in mind all the facts in post COVID-19 situation, a Task Force has been constituted by Govt to provide the immediate relief to the Industrial sector, Tourism, Hotel Industry, Hospitality Sector etc with the timeline for the submission of recommendations by May 15, 2020 by the said committee but till date no relief is provided to the Industrial sector in spite of number of representations given by FoIJ, in respect of wavier of minimum/fixed demand charges/ reimbursement of salary/wages for the lock down period, wavier of Bank interest on working capital/ term loan, resulting great resentment amongst the MSME sector of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
They claimed that several states have already provided the relief to the Industrial sector by waiving off minimum/fixed demand charges and other reliefs for the Lockdown period but no such relief is provided in J & K in-spite of assurances given by Administration. Since August 5 last year, the Industry in J&K is suffering badly.
The Lt Governor GC Murmu must come forward to save the Micro & Small Scale units being run by the sons of the soil who are also providing the employment to lakhs of the local residents.
FoIJ also demanded release funds for the payment of wages and salary of the workers and Staff of the Units for the Month of April, May 2020; waive off demand charges/fixed charges and electricity duty for the the Lockdown period with the direction to defer the payment of actual Power consumption Bills for the month of March, April, May, June 2020 or till the resumption of normal activates in monthly installments without any surcharge; waive off the interest on the working capital limits/ term loans up to 31-3-2021/ Corpus fund of 100 crores for the rehabilitation of sick Industrial units already declared as NPA and defer the purchases through GeM portal till 31-03-2022 to provide the relief to Micro & Small Scale sector.
