JAMMU, Feb 13: A delegation from the Federation of Industries Jammu (FoIJ), led by Chairman Lalit Mahajan, along with co-chairman Ajit Lal Bawa and Jammu Civil Society chairman Pardeep Gandotra, met Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (MoS) in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), in New Delhi today. The delegation submitted a detailed memorandum highlighting various urgent issues concerning the industrial sector in Jammu & Kashmir.
During discussions with Dr Jitendra Singh, Lalit Mahajan raised several key concerns, including a request for waiving off interest on the principal amount recovery of Central Excise from industrial units in J&K under Notification Number 56/2002-CE dated 14-11-2002. Additionally, he emphasized the need for Gross GST-linked incentives for existing units and those under substantial expansion after April 1, 2021, as well as budgetary allocation for the reimbursement of working capital and term loans under the Interest Subvention Scheme for these units.
The delegation also sought approval for pending registration cases with the Industries & Commerce Department of the Union Territory of J&K, requesting 115% of the approved funds and deviation under the NCSS 2021 Scheme for J&K. Furthermore, they urged the Government to approve reimbursement of road freight for industrial goods dispatched to domestic markets and exports from the UT.
A meeting was also arranged by Dr Jitendra Singh with Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Secretary, Revenue, Union Ministry of Finance, and members of the delegation apprised the current scenario of J&K Industrial Sector to the Secretary Revenue.
Dr Jitendra Singh and Tuhin Kanta Pandey gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation for early resolution of the issues related to the Industrial Sector of J&K.
