RANCHI: Former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav today appeared before special CBI courts here in connection with the multi crore fodder scam case.
Lalu Yadav, who is currently lodged in Birsa Munda Central Jail Hotwar, was brought to the court along with other accused in the case which included former MP Jagdish Sharma and former MLA R K Rana.
Mr Yadav was first presented in the court of special CBI judge SS Prasad in case number RC 68A/96 related to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 32 crore.
The court in this case has fixed January 24 as the date of announcement of judgement.
Later, Mr Yadav appeared in the court of special CBI judge Shivpal Singh in case number RC38A/96, which is related to withdrawal of Rs 3.97 crore from the Dumka treasury.
After that, he appeared in the court of special CBI judge Pradeep Kumar in case number RC47A/96 related to withdrawal of Rs 184 crore from Doranada treasury.
In wake of the appearance of Mr Yadav in the court, elaborate security arrangements had been made. Security personnel escorted Mr Yadav all the way from the Hotwar Jail to the CBI court here.
Mr Yadav was awarded three and a half years of imprisonment in case number RC 64A/96 which was related to withdrawal of Rs 89.4 crore from Deoghar treasury.
