According to Director of Jammu Airport, Sanjeev Kumar Garg, four scheduled flights of Air India Express were operated to and from Jammu whereas IndiGo kept its flights suspended.
The flights operated on Tuesday were from Delhi to Jammu, Jammu to Srinagar, Srinagar to Jammu and Jammu to Delhi.
“As of now the Jammu Airport is fully operational for civil flights and for tomorrow, Air India Express has scheduled four flights while IndiGo will operate two flights,” informed the Airport Director.
Pertinent to mention that soon after announcement by Airport Authority of India on Monday that Jammu, Srinagar among 32 Airports, which were closed on May 7 in the wake of India-Pakistan military stand- off, were now fully operational for civil aircraft movements with immediate effect, flight operations were resumed at Jammu Airport with IndiGo Airlines operating a flight between Jammu and Delhi in the evening.
Four flights of Air India Express and two of IndiGo were scheduled to operate Tuesday.
However, the airspace was once again closed till further orders after suspected drones were observed in Samba and other areas in the late night. In light of this developments, IndiGo announced cancellation of its scheduled flights to and from Jammu, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar and Rajkot for 13th May 2025.
As the situation appeared normal today, the Jammu airspace was once again opened this morning following which Air India Express flights operated as per the schedule, but IndiGo flights remained cancelled for the day.
Passengers scheduled to travel via Jammu Airports were already advised to stay updated by checking flight status directly with their respective airlines and monitor official airline website for the latest information.
Meanwhile, flight operations at Srinagar International Airport resumed today after nearly a week of suspension amid heightened border tensions.
According to officials, with the withdrawal of the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) earlier, Air India’s flight from New Delhi was the first to land in Srinagar.
“Srinagar Airport witnessed four arrivals and four departures today, handling a total of 935 passengers,” officials said.
Airlines including IndiGo and SpiceJet have announced that flights on the affected routes, including Srinagar, will be restored starting May 14.
“Scheduled operations to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar, and Rajkot will gradually resume from tomorrow,” IndiGo stated in a release, urging passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
After an earlier suspension, Hajj flights from Srinagar International Airport are also set to resume on May 14, with the J&K Hajj Committee having already issued the schedule for two flights.
As per the notification, flights SG-5114 and SG-5214 will depart from Srinagar International Airport on May 14, carrying 321 pilgrims from various districts of J&K.
The reporting time at Hajj House Bemina has been set from 6:00 am to 6:30 am for pilgrims on flight SG-5114, and from 9:00 am to 9:30 am for those on flight SG-5214.
