Five arrested for rooster fight in RS Pura

JAMMU, Aug 31: Five people were arrested and multiple vehicles were seized for their involvement in rooster fight at Kharian Village in RS Pura area today.
A police official said during routine patrolling, a team from Police Station RS Pura, led by PSI Naresh Kumar under the supervision of SHO Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar, spotted a crowd forcing roosters to fight for illegal gains.
He said on seeing the police, some participants tried to flee but six of them, including five adults and one minor, were apprehended.
Several other individuals managed to escape, he said.
According to him, police have seized 18 motorcycles used during the gathering.
An FIR under section 11(1) of the PCA Act has also been registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation taken up to arrest the remaining accused, added the police official.
