JAMMU, Aug 27: Five persons were arrested today by the police for assaulting and injuring two brothers in Sunjuwan area falling under the jurisdiction of police post Bathindi.
According to a police spokesperson, two brothers identified as Abdul Majid (32) and Mohd Yousuf (35), sons of Jamal Din of Sunjuwan, were attacked last night by four-five persons with lathies over some old land dispute, at Sunjuwan.
In the attack, both brothers received serious injuries on their legs and were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
After registering a case in this connection, the Bathindi police acted swiftly and arrested the accused persons who have been identified as Yulfkar Ali, Mohd Ashraf, Kalu, Majid Khan and Yousuf.
