RAJOURI, May 29: Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri here today accorded a warm farewell to its first-ever batch of MBBS graduates of 100 students, admitted in the year 2019 on their successfully completing their academic curriculum along with the mandatory one-year internship.
The convocation, held at the GMC campus in Mehra, Rajouri, marked a moment of pride for the institution and the entire Pir Panjal region.
The ceremony was organized by the college administration and was attended by Principal Dr. A.S Bhatia, senior faculty members including Dr Shamim Ahmed, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Jamil Ul Hasan (Head of Medicine), Dr. Chander Shekhar (Head of Gynaecology), Dr. Vidushi (Head of ENT), Dr. Shuja Qadri (Head of Community Medicine) and CAO Ashraf Hakla. The presence of jubilant students and their families added to the celebratory atmosphere.
J&K Health Minister, Sakina Itoo addressed the gathering through video conference and congratulated the graduating batch.
Secretary Health, Syed Abid Shah, along with prominent medical educators from across the country, also joined virtually to extend their best wishes and commend the efforts of the institution in nurturing future healthcare leaders.
Principal Dr. A.S Bhatia highlighted the significance of the day and praised the students for their dedication and determination.
The graduating doctors expressed heartfelt gratitude to their mentors and the entire faculty for guiding them throughout the past five years.
