JAMMU, Sept 12: Panic gripped the Miran Sahib area after one individual opened fire in the locality, police said today.
They said, information was received about gunfire in Khour area recently, creating fear among residents.
Acting swiftly, police said, a team from Miran Sahib Police Station reached at the spot and found that a local resident had carried out the firing.
Accordingly, they registered an FIR under the relevant sections of the law against the accused, who, they claimed, is at large.
Police, however, said that the weapon used by the accused individual has been seized and a manhunt has been launched to put him behind the bars.
