SAMBA, Jan 22: In a devastating fire incident early this morning, more than 100 sheep perished in Rakh Barotian village near Vijaypur in Samba district.
The blaze broke out in the thatched hut (kacha kulla) of Shapian, a member of the Bakarwal community, resulting in significant damage to the family’s livestock.
The fire quickly spread and despite the desperate efforts of nearby residents to control the flames, they were unable to contain the fire.
Tehsildar Vijaypur, Sudesh Kumar, along with other officials, visited the site to assess the damage.
Speaking to the media, he expressed sympathy for the affected family and assured that all possible assistance would be provided and confirmed that a relief case would be prepared and sent to higher authorities, so that the victim family can receive compensation promptly and begin to rebuild their livelihood.
