Fire Service training program organized at SMVD Katra Rly Station

JAMMU, May 30: To make the railway employees aware of the fire related hazards and keep them safe at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) Katra Railway Station, Jammu Division, a training program organized by the Fire Services Department and Railways was held here today.
During this program, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Station, Superintendent Jugal Kishore, GRP Police Inspector Sanjay Raina, Assistant Sub Inspector RPF Vivek Mahajan and other employees present at the station also participated.
Speaking on the occasion, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said that such programs will spread awareness among the railway employees and the guidelines related to fire service issued by the Ministry of Railways from time to time are also mainly followed in the division.
The aim of this training program was to provide the necessary knowledge and skills to the railway personnel to respond appropriately in case of fire and to ensure that the railway employees understand the fire related hazards while on duty and how to deal with them.
Through the training program, the railway employees present were provided information about what to do in case of fire, how to save themselves, controlling fire and how to use firefighting equipment.
Training was also given on first aid and life saving techniques.
