NEW DELHI: Four people died of asphyxiation and two others injured in a major fire that broke out on the ground floor of a three-storey building in Dilshad Garden area of the capital.
As many as eight fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames which started at 0252 hrs last night, fire officials said.
Short circuit in electric meter installed in the ground floor caused the fire which gutted the stationary vehicles parked in the basement, said the officials.
Smoke emanating from the blaze soon spread to the other floors where four people died of asphyxiation, the officers informed.
The blaze was doused around 0420 hrs, they said. Investigations are on. (AGENCIES)
