SRINAGAR, Apr 7: A fire broke out today near the Headquarters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Srinagar, damaging a store belonging to the Jammu and Kashmir Estates Department.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire started from the Estates Department’s store located behind the PDP office. However, timely intervention by the Fire and Emergency Services prevented the flames from spreading to the PDP headquarters building.
As soon as the fire was reported, fire tenders rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. Officials said the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and an investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, no injuries were reported in the incident.
