UDHAMPUR, May 20: Fire engulfed a belt of Gangra Forest area in Udhampur this morning, prompting the authorities and local volunteers immediately coming into action.
The blaze broke out in the area and rapidly spread over a large expanse of land. The Forest Department and the Fire and Emergency Services, alongwith local volunteers, launched a firefighting operation.
There were no reports of any casualty or injury to anyone, officials said and added that the fire was controlled after one hour due to collective effort of the Fire and Forest Department.
