JAMMU, Sept 7: All J&k Plus 2 Lectures’ Forum expressed concern over shortage of staff in Higher Secondary Schools especially in the far flung areas that effects academic excellence and the board results.
In a meeting of the Forum, its president N S Jamwal said that at this stage students have been passing through sensitive and crucial career making stage. He appealed the authorities to fill up the vacant posts of lecturers through DPC/PSC as early as possible. Till the posts of Lecturers through DPC/PSC are filled, academic arrangements should be made on contractual basis so as to suffice the education of the students for the ongoing session 2012-13. He appealed to the higher authorities that the salary of the contractual lecturers should be enhanced so that they can serve properly in different areas of the State.
He stressed upon the re-organization of the School Education Department and upgradation of Hr Sec Schools to the level of Intermediate Colleges and added that the orders for 40% college quota, benefits of Time Bound Promotions (TBP), incentives for highly qualified +2 Lecturers, Grade Pay of Principals and non-vocational status in favour of Principals of Hr. Sec. Schools be issued on priority to avoid unrest among the teaching community.
