RS PURA, July 21: FICCI FLO Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh, in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF) and Institute of Music & Fine Art (IMFA), University of Jammu, organized a transformative art camp with a focus on Globalisation and Incentivising peace & prosperity in Jammu & Kashmir.
The camp aimed to showcase BSF as the real sentinels of peace on the borders. BSF Commandant Ajay Sharma inaugurated the event, praising FICCI FLO’s efforts and recognizing art’s creative potential in fostering peace and prosperity.
The art camp brought together 20 talented artists from IMFA, University of Jammu, led by Ankush Kesar, to create beautiful paintings depicting the theme of peace and prosperity.
Varuna Anand, Chairperson of FICCI FLO JKL, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, emphasizing its significance in promoting peace and harmony in the region.
The paintings created during the camp will be presented as symbols of peace and development to senior government officials/offices, as an appreciation for their dedication to progress and stability in Jammu & Kashmir.
Varuna Anand highlighted the vital role of the Border Security Force in maintaining peace at the borders and stated that the artworks would script a new chapter of peace and prosperity for Jammu & Kashmir, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 3D formula – Development, Democracy and Dialogue.
“Art holds immense potential in peace-building efforts, not only for conflict resolution but also for post-conflict reconciliation. It transcends linguistic barriers and is recognized as a universal language, making it an ideal resource to showcase the unified vision of ‘Naya Jammu & Kashmir,’ with BSF playing a crucial role in maintaining calm borders,” she said.
The G20 meet held in Kashmir further motivated the use of art as a powerful medium to promote peace and cooperation in the region, she said.
