JAMMU, Sept 2: As the normal rail traffic in Jammu Division continues to remain suspended, Northern Railway today announced restoration of a few more trains by the end of this week.

To facilitate the movement of passengers, the Northern Railway has already resumed operations of Sampark Kranti and Sealdah Express trains besides starting two shuttle services between Jammu and Katra.
According to an official spokesperson, Swaraj Group train (12472, 12474, 12476 and 12478) shall run from September 6 (Saturday) while Jammu Tawi- Ajmer Jn (12414) and SMVD Katra-New Delhi (22478) shall run from September 7 (Sunday).
Similarly, Andaman Express (16032), Himsagar Express (16318 and Navyug Express (16788) shall run from September 8 (Monday). These are long distance trains that connect various parts of India with Jammu and Katra.
Pertinent to mention that Sampark Kranti train 12445 (New Delhi-Katra) and 12446 (Katra-New Delhi) was restored from yesterday while Sealdah Express 13151 (KOAA-JAT EXP) and 13152 (JAT-KOAA EXP) was restored from today.
Besides, two shuttle service between Jammu and Katra was also started yesterday to facilitate the movement of locals passengers. Four trains have been inducted for the shuttle service that will operate from September 1 to 15.
The normal rail traffic has remained suspended in the Jammu Railway Division since last Tuesday due to misalignment and breaches at multiple locations in the Pathankot-Jammu section following heavy rains and flash floods on August 26.
The Northern Railway has announced cancellation of 68 trains to and from Jammu due to misalignment on Bridge-17 between Kathua and Madhopur. Scheduled frequency of these cancelled trains was daily, weekly, bi-weekly and fortnightly. Except a few, all these trains will remain cancelled by the end of this month.
While the Vande Bharat train between New Delhi-Katra and vice-versa (22439 and 22440) will remain cancelled till September 30, 2025, the other Vande Bharat train between New Delhi-Katra and vice-versa (22477 and 22478) will resume operations from September 7, 2025.
