Festivals reflect India’s civilisational ethos and spirit of unity: Governor Kavinder Gupta

Jalandhar, Mar 25: The Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, today participated in the Ram Navami Shobha Yatra organised at the renowned Siddha Shaktipeeth Devi Talab Mandir, Jalandhar.

The Governor offered prayers at the sacred shrine and sought divine blessings for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the people. He paid obeisance at the temple and joined devotees in the procession with deep reverence and devotion.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Kavinder Gupta underscored the spiritual and cultural significance of Ram Navami, describing it as a celebration that rekindles the values of dharma, compassion and selfless service in every heart. He said that the life and teachings of Lord Shri Ram serve as an eternal guiding light, inspiring people to walk the path of truth, righteousness and duty in their personal and public lives.

The Governor emphasised that festivals like Ram Navami are not merely religious observances but powerful expressions of India’s civilisational ethos that bind communities together in a spirit of unity, devotion and brotherhood. He remarked that the Shobha Yatra tradition carries forward the cultural memory of generations and reinforces the timeless values embedded in our ancient heritage.

Shri Kavinder Gupta commended the Devi Talab Mandir Committee and the devotees for organising the Shobha Yatra in a disciplined, peaceful and spiritually charged manner. He noted that such collective participation in sacred occasions strengthens social harmony and nurtures a sense of shared responsibility towards society and the nation.

Appealing to the people on the occasion, the Governor urged citizens to imbibe the ideals of Lord Rama in their daily lives and strive to build a society rooted in compassion, equality and mutual respect. He called upon the youth in particular to draw inspiration from the life of Lord Rama and dedicate themselves to the service of the nation with honesty and integrity.

Former Chief Minister of Punjab, Shri Charanjit Singh Channi, President of Devi Talab Mandir Committee, Shri Sheetal Bij, local dignitaries, temple authorities and a large number of devotees were present on the occasion.
