FCS&CA fines 25 erring shopkeepers, seals mutton shop

Srinagar, July 25: The Enforcement squad of the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department today recovered a fine of Rs. 20600 from 26 erring shopkeepers besides sealing one mutton shop for violation of norms.
The fines were imposed during a market checking drive conducted in various areas of Srinagar City including, Safa Kadal, Hawal, Lalbazar, Hazratbal, Sadrabal, Saida Kadal, Sanat Nagar, Rawalpora, and Parraypora.
During the market checking, 81 business establishments were inspected, officials said.
Notably, during July so far, in the entire valley, Rs. 800550 has been collected as a fine from 1892 erring traders for violating E.C.Act.
The officials said that the erring lot has been reprimanded to remain careful in the future while stating that the drives will continue in the future as well and whosoever is found violating the norms will be brought to justice. “In case of any complaint, people may contact the toll-free number 18001807011.”
