SRINAGAR, Mar 9: The much-anticipated elections for the J&K Civil Engineering Graduates Association (JKCEGA) were successfully conducted today through a hybrid voting process.
The elections were overseen by a nominated Election Commission, led by Er Samiullah Beigh as the Chief Election Commissioner. With an overwhelming 80% voter turnout, the engineering fraternity demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and unity.
Farooq Ahmad Ganie (AEE) secured a decisive victory, being elected as the president by a significant margin. Irfan Ahmad Reshi was elected as the general secretary unopposed.
The election proceedings were observed by a distinguished panel, including retired Chief Engineers, Executive Engineers (XEns), the president of JKMEGA, and president JKEEGA besides other senior officials.
Engineers across all levels-from Junior Engineers (JEs) to Chief Engineers-from both R&B and the Hydraulic sector actively participated in the voting process, reaffirming their commitment to a democratic and progressive leadership structure.
