SRINAGAR, Mar 27: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah today said that disunity among nations often leads to decline and destruction, warning that the current crisis facing the world is a direct consequence of the lack of unity.
Addressing a gathering in Beerwah, Budgam Dr. Farooq said that the world, is passing through a deeply challenging and turbulent phase.
He expressed grave concern over the worsening situation in West Asia where escalating tensions have led to killing of thousands of innocent people and also severely impacted economic stability, disrupted trade and commerce and intensified uncertainty in the region.
He attributed the prevailing situation to what he described as expansionist policies pursued by Israel and the United States, along with an increasingly hostile environment directed against Iran.

Providing historical context, he referred to developments in Palestine, stating that the roots of the conflict date back to the early 20th century. He remarked that despite agreements recognizing Palestinian rights, continued oppression and violence have led to immense human suffering over decades.
Highlighting broader global concerns, Dr. Farooq said that lasting peace can only be achieved by dismantling divisions, ensuring justice for the oppressed and promoting mutual understanding among nations.
In his concluding remarks, he advised party office-bearers and workers to remain committed to public service, urging them to empathize with the people, actively address their grievances, and work tirelessly for their welfare.
