‘Delay in Chenab bridge completion’

JAMMU, Apr 9: In a significant Congress workers’ meeting, organized today at Pargwal, under the chairmanship of District president for Jammu Rural, Neeraj Kundan, key issues of the farmers and lack of development in the area were projected. The meeting was convened by Ashok Kumar, a former contesting candidate from Akhnoor Assembly.
Local residents and workers actively participated in the meeting and drew attention to the pressing problems, faced specially by the farming community in the region. Participants highlighted that the area was severely affected by recent floods, yet the affected people have not received adequate relief and rehabilitation support from the administration.
A major concern raised during the meeting was the long-pending Pargwal bridge project. Locals expressed frustration over the repeated delays and demanded a clear and fixed timeline for its completion, emphasizing that the bridge is crucial for connectivity and overall development of the area.
Addressing the gathering, Kundan strongly criticized the BJP Government at the Centre, stating that the people of the region have become victims of hollow slogans and unfulfilled promises. He assured the attendees that their genuine demands and issues would be highlighted on the right platforms and pursued vigorously.
DCC president further emphasized that strengthening the party organization at the grassroots level remains his top priority. He informed the workers that the organization is steadily progressing towards its goals. He declared that the next major target for the party is the upcoming local bodies and Panchayati Raj elections.
The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of commitment among the workers to address local issues and strengthen the organizational base in Jammu Rural.
