LEH, Jan 23: Representing UT of Ladakh for the first time in the 3rd Khelo India Youth Games 2020 at Guwahati, Assam, Farhana Eliyas of Leh district succeeded to bag the Bronze medal in the 69 KG weight category boxing competition yesterday.
DC/CEO LAHDC, Leh Sachin Kumar Vaishya congratulated Farhana Eliyas for the achievement and also appreciated the efforts put in by the entire team of Youth Services and Sports Department of Ladakh for putting up an impressive performance. He added that Ladakhi children have tremendous potential to excel in the field of sports and expressed hope that this was just the beginning of a new Ladakh.
Pertinent to mention here that Farhana’s talent was first seen at the Ladakh School Olympics tournament where she exhibited a terrific performance throughout the tournament to win the competition.
