Minister Javed Rana, others seek justice

JAMMU, July 26: The family members of a youth, who was killed in police firing in Sure Chak area on Thursday, reiterated their demand for an adequate compensation and a job.
They claimed the administration has promised them to deliver justice within a period of 10-15 days “and we are hopeful that the justice will be delivered in the promised time.”
Speaking with the Excelsior, one of the family members said, “While administration cannot retrieve the lost life, they can ensure justice with the innocent youth killed in police firing by delivering on what they’ve promised with us in a meeting held on Friday.”
Another member requested LG Manoj Sinha to intervene in the matter personally and get an FIR registered against those who were involved in the killing of the innocent youth.
He also appealed the administration to end the atmosphere of the fear among the minority community due to recurring incidents of selected killings in the Jammu region.
Earlier, Minister Javed Rana, also a Gujjar community leader, visited the family members of the deceased youth at Javed Nagar, Nikki Tawi area, and assured that justice would be delivered.
He requested the police to rectify the FIR to take the killers of the deceased youth to task by booking them under murder charges.
For rising incidents of selected killings, Rana blamed the LG Administration for not having a “balance in the system and bureaucracy”.
As such, he requested the LG to maintain this balance.
Meanwhile, in a show of solidarity with the family members of the deceased youth, Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust members, including Chairman Arshad Ali Choudhary, General Secretary M Sadiq Azad, Financial Advisor Choudhary Bashir Ahmad Noon, Senior Trustees Choudhary Shouket Javed, Advocate Aslam Khan, Choudhary Mohammad Rafiq Kohli, Choudhary Mohammad Aslam Gheghi and Advocate Zeeshan Ahmed Rana also visited the residence of the deceased youth and offered dua-e-maghfirah while praying for granting Jannat-ul-Firdous to the departed soul.
They strongly denounced the unlawful action of the J&K Police and termed it a blatant violation of human rights and justice.
They also demanded that the family of the deceased must be provided with adequate financial compensation and a job to support them in their difficult times.
