KATHUA, Jan 20: Demanding the arrest of absconding accused involved in the gang rape of a minor SC girl, her family members staged a protest demonstration here today in front of SP Kathua office.
The protesters were supported by Bhim Sena and they raised anti-police slogans and flayed the alleged delaying attitude of women cops in arresting the accused involve in outraging the modesty of the minor girl.
Bhim Sena president, Sanjay Kumar and Advocate Sushil Gupta alleged that minor girl was gang raped by influential accused in the month of October 2024 and the accused even threatened the victim of dire consequences if she disclosed the matter before cops.
The accused made viral the video of rape.
Family members of the victim registered a complaint with Women Police and demanded stern action against the accused.
Additional SP, Rahul Kumar visited the spot and assured stern action against the accused.
He said that a case under POCSO Act has been registered in this regard and one of the accused has been arrested so far.
The protesters withdrew their protest after assurance by police.
