JAMMU, June 26: A family in Bishnah area here has alleged theft of around 20-25 tolas of gold and Rs 10,000 in cash from their house, the claim which has been outrightly rejected by the police as an “internal matter” of the family.
Satish Sharma son of late Bishnah Dass of Sultanpur, Bishnah, said the incident happened on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday, when unidentified thieves entered into their premises in the presence of the family members and decamped with gold, silver ornaments, and cash.
However, police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the law and started further investigation into the matter they said the matter appeared personal between the family members as nothing appears fishy in the investigation so far.
“During preliminary investigation, we didn’t see any material evidence that confirmed the theft by burglars. Inspite of this, we’re investigating into this matter,” a police official said.
