JAMMU, Dec 4: A man has been arrested for impersonating as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) from Stadium Morh area, falling under the jurisdiction of Channi Himmat police station.
As per police sources, several complaints were received by Channi Himmat police that a man is impersonating as DySP and charging money from people by laying nakas along with his associates at various places on Jammu-Pathankote National Highway.
Working over the complaints, Channi Himmat police apprehended the accused near Stadium Morh area in the dress of DySP today.
The accused has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed Seyal, son of Abdul Rashid Seyal, a resident of Teli Basti, Bari Brahmana.
A case under FIR number 100/14 has been registered against the accused at Channi Himmat Police Station and investigation started to arrest other accused involved in this crime.
Police team led by SHO Channi Himmat police station Inspector Aijaz Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP South Rahul Malik and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
