RAMBAN, Aug 29: Congress leader, Fairoz Khan highlighted the worse condition of roads and the plight of people affected by natural calamities in Ramban.
In a press conference here today Khan expressed serious concern over Maitra-Karol Road (old alignment), particularly the stretch near Bathi, which is completely blocked.
He reminded that the road was damaged during Bharat Jodo Yatra on January 25, 2023, when the administration had assured immediate repairs but nothing has been done till date.
He added that the old alignment of Maitra-Karol Road, also used by the NHAI, continues to be neglected, while the Jhula Bridge area has become dangerous because the retaining wall has collapsed due to heavy rains.
Khan also pointed out that the condition of link roads including Gandhri Road, Pogal Salgad Road and Rajgarh Road are equally alarming, cutting off villages and affecting daily life.
The Congress leader also raised the plight of families affected by the recent flash floods and claimed that they were still awaiting justice and adequate compensation.
