External players in Iran crisis should not focus solely on their own agenda: Moscow

MOSCOW, March 29: External players trying to facilitate a resolution to the Persian Gulf crisis should not be guided solely by their own narrow agenda, Vladimir Safronkov, the Russian Foreign Minister’s special representative for the Middle East peace process, said in an interview with Sputnik.

“Here I consider it important to note that, overall, resolving the current crisis in the Gulf, as well as other conflicts, depends on the coordinated actions of external players. It is important that everyone act according to the same ‘rules of the game’ and not be guided solely by their own narrow agenda,” Safronkov said.

On February 28, the US and Israel began striking targets in Iran, including Tehran. Iran is launching retaliatory strikes on Israeli territory, as well as on US military facilities in the Middle East.
