JAMMU, Sept 27: Due to complete suspension of the internet services by J&K Government in the State, the J&K Branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has demanded extension in the date of filing of tax audit report and income tax returns.
The J&K Branch of ICAI has appealed to the Jaitley, Union Finance Minister and Anita Kapoor, Chairperson, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) for the same.
In its representation made to the Union Finance Ministry and CBDT, the J&K Branch of ICAI highlighted the hardships being faced by the Chartered Accountants and audit assessees of J&K due to complete snapping of internet services in the State.
The Union Finance Minister was also apprised of forthcoming long power curtailment schedule of J&K Government till October 10, which will further hamper smooth filing of income tax returns and tax audit reports.
The branch also appealed to the Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu to extend the date of filing annual and revised VAT, CST and GST returns, which need to be filed electronically and the due date of filing of such returns is also on September 30.
