Extend Governor’s rule

Sir,
Please refer to the letter titled “Administration at snail’s pace” published in this paper on July 26, 2019 wherein the learned author has written that the Government working under governor’s rule is not satisfactory for want of elected representatives. Giving overdue importance to the elected members, the author desires to get an elected Government as early as possible. But I don’t agree with the author that the present Government is performing at snail’s pace.
As per my knowledge and experience, the present government is very smart and performing many times better than the popular Government. There are many merits of Governor’s rule.. First, the public expenditure is at least twenty times less than the formal/ normal type of Government due to the reason that the salary bill of a big band of ministers and MLAs has been replaced by that of a very few advisors who are many times better than the ministers. Secondly, the work culture and efficiency have improved resulting in better service to the people. Thirdly, there is no political interference in the administration which results in smooth running of the Government business. Fourthly, the rate and intensity of corruption have also been minimised. Fifthly, the intensity of terrorism has also reduced many times. Sixthly, the people are feeling secure and safe and there is an atmosphere of total peace and tranquility in the state. Lastly, most of the separatist leaders have started to realise that they are not out of control of Government and there is someone to question them at least. Besides, most of the prudent members of our society want that the Governor rule be extended for at least two more years.
Hence, I would like to suggest that the Governor rule should be extended for the full term of our State Assembly Viz six years so that the vitiated atmosphere could be reformed and we may be able to lead a normal life.
