SAMBA, Nov 22: A tour of 50 farm women as exposure visit within the State was flagged off, here today under ATMA at Farm Training Centre, Rakh Dhiansar and SKUAST-Jammu.
Objective of the tour is to aware the Farm women about the latest techniques and methods of agriculture production and also to adopt the technology undertaken by the Agriculture University.
Abdul Hamid Wani, Secretary Kissan Board, J&K, along with Director Agriculture D P Khajuria, Chief Agriculture Officer Samba, Narinder Mishra and Sub-divisional Agriculture Officer Samba, Tilak Raj Sharma flagged off the tour at Rakh Dhiansar.
The Farm women were also addressed by Director Extension Education, SKUAST-Jammu, Dr R S Rissam, Dy Director SAMITI, Dr Rama Kant Sharma and other experts of the university.
Later on, Farm women visited integrated farming system, Organic Farming and Home Science Deptt where they learnt preservation of fruit and pickle making etc.
