MARH, Mar 19: Former MLA and JKPCC general secretary, Thakur Balwan Singh today asked the party workers to reach out to the people and expose anti-people policies of Modi Government at the Centre.
Addressing a large meeting of Congress workers in Marh constituency today, organized by senior Congress leader Ashok Bhagat, Balwan Singh said that party workers should reach out to people in every District, Block and Panchayat with various anti- people policies and programmes of BJP Govt and also listen to their grievances and try to resolve them with utmost sincerity to win their confidence.
“Our focus at present should be on reaching out to common people and apprising them about the anti-people policy of the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre,” he said and added that BJP Govt has broken the backbone of common man with high inflation and people of J&K are left with only one option that is their time tested Congress and appealed party workers to first strengthen the party at the ground level.
“Sonia and Rahul Gandhi without any fear and concern are engaged in exposing the divisive agenda and anti-people policy of the Union Government,” he said adding that it is time to strengthen the party through various activities, including by conducting the membership drive.
Balwan further said that the most important work for all of us is to propagate Congress ideology which is all encompassing, where people irrespective of their caste, creed, religion and linguistic identity can live in perfect unison. He said BJP has given false slogans from time to time to take measures for increasing the income of farmers and to double the same by the year 2022 but the condition of farmers is getting from bad to worse. He urged upon the UT administration and Central Government to immediately come to the rescue of suffering farming community.
Ashok Bhagat said that Congress is the only party which represents the wishes and aspirations of each and every section of the society and believes in the unity in diversity in real sense which is the basic strength of our nation. He said that present dispensation is turning a blind eye towards the apprehension and concerns of people of the state especially Jammu region.
