Existing consumers to get one refill even without submitting KYC

SRINAGAR Oct 9: A high level officers meeting was held this evening under the chairmanship of Minister for CA&PD Qamar Ali Akhoon convened to discuss the distribution and supply of LPG in the State.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary  Madhav Lal, Principal Secretary Finance,  M. I. Khanday, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister,  B. B. Vyas, Secretary CA&PD,  Mohammad Abas Dar, Director CA&PD, Kashmir  Mir Mushtaq Ahmad, Special Secretary to Chief Secretary, State Level Coordinator Oil Industry for J&K  R. K. Shahab and representatives of HPCL, IOCL, BPCL and HPCL.
After threadbare discussion, the meeting announced roster and the delivery points with effect from October 10 to October 17, 2012  circulated in the local media. The Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) were asked to make available LPG in sufficient quantity for issuance to the genuine consumers. One refill will be supplied to existing consumers irrespective of whether the KYC has been completed/submitted or not, the meeting decided.
The OMCs in consultation with the CA&PD Department have issued a roster for distribution of LPG within the city at least for a week in the first instance. The distribution of LPG at each delivery point will start from 8 a.m. onwards.
The Secretary, CA&PD Department will take up the issue with respect to providing adequate security at the delivery points with the Inspectors General of Police, Kashmir/Jammu.
An official of the CA&PD will be deployed to supervise the distribution process at each delivery point.
The daily target set before the OMCs for supply of LPG in Srinagar city will be 18 truck loads for HPCL, 5 truck loads for IOCL and 4 truck loads for BPCL.
The OMCs will establish their offices at Srinagar for the officers who could be contacted by the consumers for redressing their grievances with regard to LPG.
For obtaining a new LPG connection, the desirous persons can submit their applications in the offices of Tehsil Supply Officers (TSOs) of CA&PD or the Oil Companies, as per their convenience on prescribed forms which will be published in the newspapers and will also be available at websites of various oil companies.
