JAMMU, Feb 3: An exhibition of rare historical antique-artifacts, books, manuscripts, etc collected and compiled by Dr. B.N. Handoo (Upkari) single-handedly was inaugurated by Vijay Bakaya MLC & Ex Chief-Secretary here today in presence of a large a cross section of intellectuals writers and prominent citizens.
The exhibition was organized by NJP Memorial Educational-Cum-Cultural Heritage Trust.
Mr Bakaya lauded the role of Dr. Handoo for his courage, patience & selfless services in translating his efforts into action by way of preserving and maintaining these unique Artifact and antiques. He was surprised to see such excellent and multipronged huge-works of collecting and preserving with-out any help and support by the Government and other organizations or agencies. Mr. Bakaya appealed to Government and the concerned Departments to take cognizance and provide full moral & financial support to “Handoo Antique Museum & Library. He assured to NJH Memorial Educational cum Cultural Heritage Trust” that their accomodational and allied requirements will be solved very soon.
Later addressing the residents of Rajpura-Mangotria Mr. Bakaya emphasized the need to take benefit of all relevant schemes floated by the Government for the welfare of the people particularly the Kashmiri Pandit community. He promised to extend all help to the problems of the Kashmiri Pandit community in this endeavor.
