JAMMU, Nov 20: Alert Border Security Force (BSF) troops shot dead one suspect trying to cross the International Border (IB) into Pakistan in Pargwal sector late last night.
“Alert BSF troops saw some suspected movement near IB close to Sohan Border-out-Post (BoP) in Pargwal sector at around 10.30 pm last night and gave a call of halt,” official sources said.
Sources said the call of halt was not responded and the suspect continued to move towards the border forcing BSF troops to open fire in the said direction resulting in gunning down of an unidentified suspect when he was trying to exfiltrate into Pakistan.”
“The identity of the exfiltrator was yet to be ascertained,” they added.
No significant recoveries were made from his possession. Body of the killed person was later shifted to the Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu for post-mortem and completion of other legal formalities.
