JAMMU, Nov 16: During a cyber-security awareness programme at DBN Higher Secondary School, Talab Tillo today , Director of Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) for J&K and Ladakh, Ghulam Abbas emphasized the importance of preventing cybercrime by controlling unnecessary clicking and excessive browsing on social networking sites.
He advised the audience to stay vigilant while using online portals for their needs and requirements.
The awareness programme was organized by Quick Heal Foundation in collaboration with Krishan Kala Kendra and DBN Higher Secondary Amarvilla.
On this occasion, Mohammad Shabir, a Cybercrime Police representative discussed financial cybercrime and social media-related cybercrime.
He also addressed various questions from the students regarding cybercrimes.
Principal of the host school, Ranju Malhotra, urged the users to exercise caution while browsing the internet and using mobile phones.
Earlier, artists from Krishan Kala Kendra performed theme-based cultural programmes and skits that captivated the audience.
The campaign saw active participation from schools including Government Boys School, Old Janipur; Government Girls Middle School, New Plot; Government Girls Middle School, Chinore; Government High School, Bantalab; Government Middle School, Keran and DBN Higher Secondary Amarvilla.
