JAMMU, Apr 6: The Executive Council of Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) has nominated Dr Jagadish Thappa as Advisor, Addition Medicine-Specialty Section in recognition of his special expertise and experience in the field of Psychiatry.
Dr Thappa has retired as Professor and Head of Department of Psychiatry in the Government Medical College Jammu and is the founder President of Indian Psychiatric Society Jammu and Kashmir Chapter associated with Indian Psychiatric Society.
He is also the founder President of Indian Association of Private Psychiatry and remained Examiner of PG of National Board of Examination, Government of India. Further, he remained Election Commissioner of North Zone Psychiatry Association and Executive Member for three years of North Zone IPS Branch.
His contribution in the field of Psychiatry in Jammu and Kashmir is widely recognized by the fraternity in the field as well as people.
