JAMMU, Feb 26: The Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association Akhnoor organised a monthly meeting under the chairmanship of Lakhbir Singh Sohal, veteran of Indian Navy.
Speaking in the meeting, Sohal underscored priority welfare initiatives including expeditious construction of the fourth bypass bridge over River Chenab and Sainik House in Akhnoor to facilitate meetings and seminars.
He supported the proposal of Veer Naris president, Sunita Devi for patriotic themed seminars in schools.
Speakers in the meeting lauded the role of Brigade Commander of 52 Brigade, Brigadier D.N Sharma in cooperating with ex-servicemen and border residents.
Shoal also demanded complete implementation of One Rank One Pension (OROP), augmented Military Service Pay and simplified Disability Pension process.
Proceedings of the meeting were carried by Kaka Ram, arrangements were made by event organiser, Ragbir Singh and vote of thanks was presented by the president, Santosh Kumar.
Those who were present in the meeting were Rameshwar Dutt, Jagdev Singh, Om Prakash, Bharat Bhushan, Janak Raj, Shanti Swaroop, Vijay Singh and others.
