JAMMU, Nov 26: The monthly meeting of Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association Akhnoor was held here today under the chairmanship of Capt. Santosh Kumar.
Speakers in the meeting discussed various issues concerning the welfare of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and widows.
The issue of One Rank One Pension (OROP) anomalies was also discussed and all the ex-servicemen demanded an immediate solution for this long pending demand of the veterans.
The issue of traffic jams in Akhnoor town was also discussed and a bypass road was demanded in the town.
Capt. Santosh Kumar while addressing the meeting talked about various issues concerning ex-servicemen and welfare schemes for widows.
He also made the gathering aware about the rights of ex-servicemen particularly the role of ECHS doctors.
Capt. Santosh said that the ex-servicemen should be aware of the best doctor and the best empanelled hospitals so that they may get better medical treatment.
The meeting was conducted by Kaka Ram, general secretary.
Prominent among those present in the meeting were Rameshwar Dutt, Raghbir Singh, Jagdev Singh, Ramesh Kumar, Shanti Saroop and others.
