JAMMU, Dec 25: Members of Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association Akhnoor held a meeting under the chairmanship of Navy Veteran Lakhbir Singh Sohal to discuss the issues relating to welfare of Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and widows of the area.
While welcoming the newly inducted Ex-servicemen members, including Capt Sucha Singh, International player and 4 time representative in Asia Medalists, Association expressed proud of his achievements.
The Chairman, while addressing the meet, gave feedback on latest rule positions on various welfare issues. He disclosed that in a recent meeting with District Magistrate, Dirctor Zila Salnik Board and the Lt Governor at border village Kachrial on Vijay Divas function on December 16, 2025, they firmly raised critical welfare issues, including the long pending construction of Salnik House in Akhnoor for community events. “Our veterans deserve dedicated facilities and swift resolution to traffic woos via a bypass road. Unity among Ex servicemen will ensure these demands are met for the betterment of people living around Akhnoor and its border residents,” he said and added that thousands of Ex servicemen were willing to join them.
The meeting was conducted by Kaka Ram in presence of Capt Santosh Kumar. Those who spoke on the occasion included Capt Rameshwar Dutt, Bharat Bhushan, Ghar Chand, Sucha Singh, Om parkash and others.
