Mendhar, May 21: A tragic road accident claimed the life of an ex-serviceman, Choudhary Anzar Ahmad, while injuring another, Zulfikar Ahmad, in Mankote, Mendhar area of Poonch district on Wednesday.
According to officials, the motorcycle (JK12C-1152) lost control near Uchhad BSF camp, skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge.
Anzar Ahmad, son of Mohd Kabir from Dahargaloon, died on the spot, while Zulfikar Ahmad, son of Naziq Hussain from Kotan Mendhar, sustained injuries.
Dr. Ashfaq, BMO Mendhar, said that the injured was shifted to SDH Mendhar and later referred to GMC Rajouri for advanced treatment. Police have taken cognizance of the incident.
