JAMMU, Apr 6: To discuss their welfare issues, the monthly meeting of Ex Policemen League District Jammu was held here today under the chairmanship of S Karanjit Singh, president of the League.
At the outset two minutes silence was observed to pay homage to the departed soul of S Makhtul Singh, retd Inspector, resident of Village Dablaher, now Satwari, Jammu.
During the meeting, a warm farewell was accorded to SP South Dr Ajay Kumar Sharma, who was recently transferred from here.
Other main issues raised by members included removal of discrepancies in salary pensions of same ranks Officers, long pending demand of NGOs ranks of paying their pensions dues.
Other issues like availability of free medicines in all Hospitals specially Police Hospitals to the pensioners and serving Police personal be provided, special recruitment drive for wards of Retired Police Personal, holding of meetings with Retired Police Personal at Zonal, District and Tehsil levels be held regularly.
Among others who attended the meeting included SSP Mahadeep Singh Jamwal, president senior citizens club Udhampur, Makhan Lal Sharma, Ranjit Singh, Sarwar Chohan Suresh Kumar, B L Koul, DD Sharma, Ashok Kumar Bhagat, Bhag Shamsher Singh Parihar, B L Sharma, Ram Kuldip Khajuria, Mohd Sadiq, V P Mohd Taj, Ramesh Sharma, Dhian Singh, Kirpal Singh, Satpal and Ved Raj Bali.
