Ex-Policemen League discusses welfare issues in monthly meet

JAMMU, Dec 7: The Ex-Policemen League District Jammu today held its monthly meeting under the chairmanship of S Karanjit Singh, President Retirees Police League District Jammu, at the league office in Gandhinagar.
The members began the meeting with two minutes of silence to pay homage to those who lost their lives in the recent fire incident in Goa.
During the meeting, several welfare-related issues were discussed, including special recruitment for the wards of retired police personnel, improved medical facilities for retirees of all departments, and the need for free availability of medicines in police and Government hospitals.
The members urged higher authorities to enhance medical allowances at par with other security forces and called for regular meetings by Police Headquarters to review the welfare of retirees at zonal and district levels.
It was decided that monthly meetings will be held on the 6th or 7th of every month, while an additional meeting will take place after the 15th.
Many retired officers, including SSPs Ch Chirag Din, Ranjit Singh, Makhan Lal Sharma, Prabhdyal Sharma, and Suresh Kumar, Joint Director Prosecution Pawan Khajuria, CPO Vijay Kumar Gupta, SPs VS Kundal, SR Dutta, DySPs Mohinder Singh, Kamal Sharma, Yoginder Singh Mohan, SM Jangral, SIs Satpal Singh, Sat Pal, Ramesh Sharma, Ashok Kumar among others attended the meeting.
The meeting concluded with refreshments, and the members expressed gratitude to District Police Jammu for providing logistical support.
